What the job involves
We unbox, sort the hardware against the parts list, and follow the maker's instructions in the right order. Then we tighten every cam and screw, square the frame, and place the piece where you want it. Cardboard and packaging leave with us.
Pieces with doors and drawers get adjusted so everything lines up and closes smoothly.
We assemble office chairs, standing desks, crib and toddler beds, outdoor dining sets, entertainment centers, and shelving units. If the instructions are poor or vague, we know where the common traps are, such as panels that look identical but face a different way.
What we check first
Before starting, we check the box contents for missing or damaged parts. It is common for a kit to come with a short piece or the wrong screws, and it is better to catch that early. We also look at the floor, since uneven tile or carpet affects how a tall piece sits.
For tall furniture like dressers and bookcases, we find the wall stud for an anti-tip strap.
We also read the weight rating on the kit. Heavy items like a solid desk or a large wardrobe may need two people to stand upright, and we handle that so panels are not strained or cracked during the lift.
- Parts count against the instructions
- Damage to panels or hardware
- Floor surface and level
- Wall studs for tip-over anchors
Why it matters here
Many Valley homes have tile floors, which are hard and often slightly uneven. A dresser that rocks on tile will loosen its joints over time, so we shim or adjust the feet. Heat also affects particleboard and glue: furniture left in a hot garage or an unconditioned room before assembly can swell or warp, so bring it indoors first.
Outdoor patio furniture here takes constant sun, and we use stainless or coated hardware where a kit allows.
How a visit goes
You tell us what pieces you have when you call, and we estimate the time. We arrive with our own tools, protect the floors, and build each piece in the room where it will live so we are not carrying finished furniture through doorways.
At the end, we test drawers, doors and beds, anchor any tall item, and haul away the boxes.
For a child's room, we double-check all fasteners and rails, since beds and cribs must be solid. We do not guess on weight limits, and we follow the maker's specifications for slats, supports and mattress size.
What affects the cost, and when to call a specialist
The number and complexity of the pieces drive the price. A basic nightstand is quick, while a bunk bed, an L-shaped desk or a wardrobe with sliding doors takes much longer. Stairs, long carry distances and multiple rooms add time.
We give you the price before we begin.
Built-in cabinets, anything wired into the home, and items like gas grills or hot tubs are not furniture assembly. We will tell you plainly if a job falls outside what we do.
